In our quest for a brilliant body oil-base we chose a combination of six seed oils which between them have the most beneficial properties of nourishing vitamins, omega oils and antioxidants.
Camellia, Calendula, Borage, Abyssinian, Rosehip and Argan are super seed oils that contain a powerhouse of phytonutrients, and essential fatty acids. This balances, hydrates and softens the skin and soothes inflammation to promote healthy skin renewal. They are also colourless to avoid staining clothes, easily absorbed into the skin, and have a very mild scent which doesn’t distract from the beauty and delicacy of the After Midnight fragrance.
For our Yesterday Super Skin Face Oil we chose Sea Buckthorn and Rosehip Seed oils for their incredible skin benefits. The blend has its own natural scent reminiscent of dry hay. It also has a rich orange colour, which gives your skin a warm sun kissed glow. Take care to avoid contact with white clothes and fabrics straight after application.
Known as liquid gold, Sea Buckthorn oil is one of the only seed oils to contain all four types of omega fatty acids — omega-3, omega-6, omega-7, and omega-9 which makes it great for all skin types, from oily to dry. It is excellent for reducing acne breakouts, calming inflammation in the skin, helping to fade scars and promoting a smoother and more even skin texture. Containing 190 nutrients and phytonutrients its vitamin C concentration is 12 times higher than that of an orange. Vitamin C is known as the “beauty vitamin” as it reduces inflammation in the skin, brightening the skin. and boosting collagen for plumper, firmer skin.
Rosehip seed oil has been prized since ancient times for its valuable healing benefits. Containing phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties loaded with skin-nourishing vitamins, essential fatty acids and antioxidants that are integral for tissue and cell regeneration in the skin, Rosehip seed oil helps to prevent the breakdown of cell membranes in the skin. Strong, healthy cells act as a barrier to prevent bacteria from invading the skin, skin outbreaks and infections. Rosehip seed also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant known for its anti- inflammatory effects. And its high vitamin A or retinol encourages skin cell turn over making it a natural exfoliation, to reduce dullness to leave you with glowing, vibrant skin. Rosehip’s synergistic combination of vitamins A, C, and E also help to combat visible sun damage prevent photoaging. Like Sea Buckthorn seed oil, Rosehip seed oil is considered safe and beneficial for all skin types
